Sons honor their former POW Fathers

These men are the members of Crew # 2404, assigned to the 24th Bomb Squadron of the 6th Bomb Group, in a photo probably taken after a mission. This crew was shot down on a bombing mission to Tokyo, Japan, on the night of 23 May 1945, aboard the B-29 Superfortress “Blind Date/Lady’s Delight.” Standing, left to right are 1st Lt. Albert S. Romoser (Navigator), M/Sgt Roger L. Townsend (Flight Engineer), S/Sgt Frank C. Massey (Radio), 1st Lt. Rollin E. Heidlebaugh (Pilot), 1st Lt. John B. Boynton (Aircraft Commander), 2nd Lt. Franklyn S.
