The Oregon Air Guard and Victory over Japan

Officers of the 439th Bomb Squadron gather for a picture in front of their mess on Okinawa, late in World War II. They were part of the 319th Bomb Group which transferred from the war in Europe to help finish the war in the Pacific. Today the unit is the 114th Fighter Squadron of the Oregon Air National Guard, at Kingsley Field, Oregon. (Courtesy 319th Bomb Group Association)
