We Remember Victory in Europe Day (VE-Day), 1945

A pair of 371st Fighter Group P-47 Thunderbolt fighters on takeoff from an airfield in Europe. The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter was the primary aircraft assigned to the 371st Fighter Group during World War II. The group operated both the Razorback and Bubbletop versions of the Thunderbolt, including those produced at Republics primary factory at Farmingdale, New York as well as its wartime factory at Evansville, Indiana.
